What is flexible housing?
The term “flex living” refers to flexible housing solutions that can be realized quickly and inexpensively. Flexible refers to its movability or demountable construction. Characterized by the “temporary nature” of the dwelling itself, the occupancy or use of a site on which the dwelling is placed. Self-build refers to the buyer’s ability to build the home themselves using simple tools. Prefabricated means that many components of the home are already cut to size and ready for assembly.
A prefabricated self-built home is potentially more sustainable than traditional construction, and high circularity of materials is often employed.
